The 1990s internet and mobile phone heralded the digital and communications revolution and reconfigured our perceptions of time and space into a state of constant flux. The unthinkably complex flows of Capital carved out Utopias and Dystopias. This Techno-Sublime landscape is captured in Gordon Cheung’s multi-media art to reflect on the rise and fall of civilisations in an highly interconnected world to reflect on the existential human relationship between the artificial and natural world.
Gordon Cheung (1975) is a British born Chinese contemporary artist. He studied painting at the Royal College of Art and has held international solo exhibitions in London, New York, Dubai, Shanghai, Rome, San Paulo, Miami and Hong Kong. Cheung’s works are in notable art collections such as the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, CA USA; British Museum, London, UK; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C.
