'Housewife' by Renee Cox exhibited at the 'The Art of Protest' co-curated with Subliminal Gallery
Work by American phtographer Renee Cox is currently on show at Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood.at the Arnolfini in Bristol as part of the touring exhibition organised by the Hayward Gallery.
The exhibition feaures more than sixty modern and contemporary artists, this exhibition will approach motherhood as a creative enterprise, albeit one at times tempered by ambivalence, exhaustion or grief.
Renee Cox is a Jamaican American photographer, and activist who's work centers on the depcitions of Black women. Her photography has been exhibited at the Whitney, Smithsonisan and the Studio Museum in Harlem to name a few.
